Today (Wednesday): A fine but cold start for most. Then it will turn a little cloudier through the day with scattered showers developing, these mainly in the north although there is a chance of a few along English Channel coastal counties, as well as East Anglia. The showers in Scotland may be wintry at times, especially over the mountains. Northern Ireland will see an increasingly cloudy day, with rain and drizzle gradually edging in from the west. Temperatures will be generally below average for the time of year.
Tonight (Wednesday night): Rain already over Northern Ireland will edge eastwards into south-west Scotland, northern England and north Wales overnight. Elsewhere will be largely dry with clear spells after any evening showers have died away. Feeling cold under the clear skies with a touch of ground frost.
